In the middle of nowhere

Solace and peace, solitude and harmony and weird and wonderful things can often be found in the middle of nowhere.

Recently we headed for inland South Australia, we seriously saw some very odd but amazing sights....

*Soil so red, and even redder in a setting sun.

*Sheep hardened and swarthy, taking on the colour of the earth

*Golden wheat fields that stretch for miles.

*Flies, heat and spiders the size of giants.

*Plants so sharp and thorny, they slice the sides of the unassuming passer by.

And so my story begins....

In the middle of nowhere, I headed to the horizon... so far away it seemed non existent
In the middle of nowhere I found a red road leading to adventure untold
In the middle of nowhere so much dry ground and no place to lay my head
In the middle of nowhere I try to rest and search listlessly for any shade
In the middle of nowhere I built a fine abode...which withstood plague, pestilence and persecution for a defined and limited time only
In the middle of nowhere I learnt of the complexities of life
In the middle of nowhere I saw that alone is often good and so I sat by myself for a very long time
In the middle of nowhere I discovered myself... whatever I look like I am good.
In the middle of nowhere I discovered.."As the crow flies," is definitely not a straight line
In the middle of nowhere I discovered I can be like the chameleon, but there is still me under there
In the middle of nowhere I saw that we are made from the dust of the earth, beautiful and bold
In the middle of nowhere, I sat down to rest away from the perishing midday sun
In the middle of nowhere I discovered a deep and perplexing beauty and I fell down and worshipped with tears streaming down my face.
In the middle of nowhere I found that a three fold chord cannot be easily broken
In the middle of nowhere they layed me to rest and my slumber was filled with the memories of many golden years
In the middle of nowhere I found myself in an Australian heaven
Everything was red and blue
And the mists of time rewarded me.

See you next week....in the middle of no where!!  Wendy.
