The sights and sounds of an authentic Australia Day

Every single Aussie is likely to hit the beaches, armed with beers, barby and a brolly on our annual Australia day. The temperature soars and the beaches are filled with sun soaked bodies! The night is crowned with a superb sunset and fireworks in the distance.

Here is our story....

The day dawned cloudy and warm.
We headed for Carrakalinga, likely to be far less crowded than all other beaches
A beautiful location far from the madding crowds
Umbrellas were set up
And various shelters were knocked up
Some chose to bike
But most chose the, dogs, beers what could be better?
Tattoes of Australia got put on arms...
And then beach babes tested the tattoos in the salty water...
A reminder of the sixties
The kids took to rafting
Waves often caught unsuspecting children
Often resulting in near nervous breakdowns
A swim alone calmed the frazzled nerves
Some persevering types tried fishing
And through his long and lonely vigil he was frequented by the odd visitor
Overall a colourful day
With always a seabird or two wishing us good bye
