What do we gain by judging others?.

What do we gain by judging others?.
Recently I have been thinking how people feel so wronged by life, by others, by themselves, by leaders, governments, family, friends, environment, catastrophes and the list goes on.

Luke 6.27. Love your enemies. Do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who are cruel to you. If someone slaps you on one cheek, offer him the other cheek too. If someone takes your coat, do not stop him from taking your shirt also. Give to everyone who asks and when someone takes something that is yours don't ask for it back.

STOP, DON'T YELL AT ME, I DID NOT WRITE THE ABOVE WORDS!!  But, might I add, many principles in the bible work!! Maybe we could give it a go?? Just a thought??

We have choices and by our words we are set free or we condemn ourselves.

We can be so quick to judge, but why?

What do we gain by judging?

What benefit does it do to us, our family or our community?

Proverbs 25.8. Because of something you have seen do not quickly take someone to court. What will you do later when your neighbour proves YOU wrong.

When I first saw the movie "Les Miserable," I was in absolute and utter disbelief...How could anyone show such mercy? Bishop Myriel's character and grace astounded me.

To date my righteousness and efforts at good deeds are as filthy rags compared to Bishop Myriel! (Ha ha honestly I have tried to be like him.... with one hand I give and then with the other I take back!!)

Was he foolish for his kind act? Or was he noble and life giving?

Whatever the case, even if his charitable act had been shunned by Valjean. It will always be better to show mercy and kindness than hatred and anger.

Our words are like vessels, filled with the energy to carry bucket loads of power. If we use our words to bless, blessing will come back to us, if we use our words to curse, cursing will come back to us.

I leave you with the raven known for its remarkable intelligence... clever, cunning, ingenious and adaptable the raven uses his remarkable skills to live a long and happy life.

A sharp eye.
Above the clouds.
Smarter than you think.
As the crow flies... may not always be the direct or the best route?
This image was one of my first ever pics, taken some eight years ago. I must have always had a liking for ravens.
