Photography:
I love to photograph and I believe that this art form can inspire and motivate others to grasp hold of the dream they have in their heart. I photograph mainly coastal scenes and my style is minimal. My travel is local destinations and I record my adventures along the way. I have a Nikon D850, and a Nikon D5100, I use Lightroom and Photoshop for most of my editing.
Blog:
Words are powerful and creative! Inspiring and beautiful, but yet they can destroy in a moment. I write about things I’ve battled with personally. Fears can be overcome and the power of the mind is not to be underestimated. Also on the blog photography tips, finding your creative unique talents, personal adventures and more.
Prints:
I sell my photographic prints on an online gallery called Bluethumb. they are printed on museum grade, good quality, fine art paper by Atkins Photolab of Adelaide. You will not be disappointed! If you see an image in my Gallery which is not listed on Bluethumb, please let me know via my contact page and it will not take long to upload that particular photograph onto the Bluethumb website. I also sell a number of digital prints on the Adobe stock web site.
Age:
Yes I’m older. I can’t tell you my age otherwise you would immediately stop reading this “About page.” What I can tell you is that, I used to count wrinkles, now unfortunately I have stopped doing that. However with age comes, life experiences, and lessons learnt. The good, the bad and the ugly, I share my stories in the hope they encourage you and bring you renewed vision.
Faith:
I believe in God and creation, and you will find my stories have bible quotes here and there. I believe in family, friends and good wholesome living.
My Personal Story:
It all began some 20 years ago when I picked up a camera and basically only put it down to eat and sleep.
Can I step back in time a little and say, I was born and raised in the beautiful countryside of New Zealand. Together, my husband and myself raised a family and I did a variety of jobs. I battled personally with quite a few fears during those early years, however perhaps the most peaceful and fulfilling moments have been in this latter part of my life. We live simply and value the time and adventures that each day brings.
Photography has touched a part of my heart I never knew exsisted before. For me it is about creating art on a digital file. It is the ethereal transference of what I see and feel on to a screen, then onto photographic paper.
I use the simplest of equipment and techniques and enjoy the creative process of editing my images.
It is often the natural and uncomplicated things in life that move me to photograph, a field of long golden grass and you hear the swish of the sheaves swaying, a gentle slope of snow which catches a wisp of pink mist in the early morning sun.
I listen…the sound of the cold air is like a heaven sent whisper, some tall trees wherein I hear the sounds of eternity in the canopy of needles.
I don’t look for the complicated or most sought after icons of this world, I look for the things that bring a normality of peacefulness and a feeling that everything is going to be alright.
A life of faith, beauty and simplicity is found in doing something you love.
