I love to walk or bike around our local area, with my camera of course....
Recently I have found myself photographing our beautiful and unique birds.. The Onkaparinga River is only a few short miles away and has a number of birds residing on its shores.
Always captivating, but requiring patience, and a stealthy, camouflaged approach.
Hmmm I kept wondering why all the birds flew off when I walked out so brazenly in my white scarf and T shirt singing a mindless and loud melody.
I needed to get close and not come home with a thousand blurry shots taken from way in the distance...........
If I was to become a sneaky bird watcher things had to change!
I now resemble psycho Sam from the movie "Hunt for the Wilderpeople." I tie a myriad of tree branches around my head and body...and quite the reverse is happening...The birds stay foraging and preening, but I've noticed humans run away from me as I walk along the banks of the estuary.
The heron bride.
Bitten off more than she can chew.
Wattle bird
Each evening we have crows flying over the hill towards our home. I managed to capture them with the rising moon this last week.
